Import file name

Use the first step of the Import Export Manager to specify the import file format and file name.

  1. Select the file type of your import file from the List Files of Type list.

If you select Archive Format as the file type, this list will display archive files (*.arc) from all versions of the program.

  2. Browse to the drive and folder containing the file you want to import.

  3. Select the file to import from the File Name list.

  4. Specify the Decimal symbol that is used in the file for numeric values and for date/time stamps that show hundredths of seconds.

This is especially important if you received this file from a country where a different character is typically used for the decimal symbol.

For example, some countries use a period (.) for the decimal symbol, while others use a comma (,) for the decimal symbol.

This option is not available if you are importing a file in the Archive Format (*.ARC).

  5. If you are importing a *.CSV or *.QSV file, specify the List separator that is used to separate fields on one line of the text file.

This is especially important if you received this file from a country where a different character is typically used for the list separator.

For example, some countries use a comma (,) for the list separator and a period (.) for the decimal symbol, while others use a semicolon (;) for the list separator and a comma (,) for the decimal symbol.
